This week marks the halfway point of the quilt along! Soon we’ll be down to only 4 vegetables left.
We will be sewing the carrots and squash this week. The squash is super simple, all using the same squares on corners as before. The carrots are probable the trickiest vegetable (don’t ask my why I included four of them). They aren’t really hard though, just take a little more marking, so make sure to take the time to get the marks in the right places and you’ll be golden.
I show you in this weeks video how to go about lining up all the rectangle corners on the carrots and how to make sure that the points don’t get cut off. If you get everything lined up and marked ahead of time, chain piecing can have them all done in no time!
After this week we only have four vegetables left. If you are working ahead, we are doing the corn and beets. Both of these are nice and easy with only squares to deal with, a nice little break before we do the last couple vegetables. Stick with us though, and you’ll have your whole garden done before Thanksgiving!
While working on your quilt, don’t forget to post photos on Facebook and Instagram. We love seeing your progress and want to cheer you on.
