Scrap Flower Quilt – A Foundation Paper Piecing Tutorial

Kimberlee Tanner

If you are anything like us, you are drowning in little scraps of fabric. You hate to throw them away, but what are you going to do with all of them? We now have a solution for you. We designed this little flower as the perfect scrap buster. It uses up all your little scraps that aren’t really usable in other patterns. The block finishes at 7″ square.

For this project, you are going to need background scrap ranging from this to this, green scraps for the leaves and stems ranging from this to this, and a variety of colored scraps for the flowers ranging from this to this. You’ll also need your free template which you can download in our subscriber library.

How to Get the Block Template

To gain access to the subscriber library, you'll need to subscribe to our email list. Not a subscriber yet? You can sign up below. Scroll to the bottom of the page where it states: Get Connected

After you have signed up, you'll get the password to login. Click directly on the photo of the flower and it should download automatically!

Printing the Template

After you have your template, print it out (we used 72 flowers for a throw sized quilt, and you’ll need 1 template printed per flower you are making), and follow along with our video to create your own colorful flower garden. I’ll warn you though, these little flowers are so quick and easy that they are addicting. As you are posting photos of your quilt on social media, please tag us @onwilliamsstreet. We’d love to see what you are working on!
