Errata


Even with double and triple checking and pattern testing, unfortunately sometimes mistakes get through. We promptly update any patterns when mistakes are found and post them here.

Fabric Requirements

Throw:

  • 2 Charm Packs containing at least 40 squares each for a total of 80 Charm squares
  • This quilt will also make a great scrappy quilt using 80—5” squares
  • 3 1/2 yards White
  • 2 1/4 yards Light Gray
  • 2/3 yard Dark Gray
  • 1/2 yard Binding
  • 4 yards Back

Baby:

  • 1 Charm pack or 36—5” squares
  • 1 3/4 yards White
  • 1 1/2 yards Light Gray
  • 3/8 yard Dark Gray
  • 1/2 yard Binding
  • 2 3/4 yards Back

Twin:

  • 3 Charm pack containing at least 40 squares each for a total of 120—5” squares
  • 4 yards White
  • 3 yards Light Gray
  • 3/4 yard Dark Gray
  • 1/2 yard Binding
  • 5 1/4 yards Back

Queen:

  • 5 Charm pack containing at least 36 squares each for a total of 180—5” squares
  • 5 3/4 yards White
  • 4 1/2 yards Light Gray
  • 1 yard Dark Gray
  • 1 yard Binding
  • 7 1/2 yards Back

When making the HST Blocks, use only the first and third diagrams, making 4 identical blocks matching the photo below. Rotate the blocks as needed to construct the row.

 

Windswept Quilt Pattern

For the King sized version you will need:

7 1/4 yards white.

3/8 yard yellow

Cut 32 of Templates E and F

Instead of 2 – 26 1/2″ squares, cut 4 – 36″ squares. Cut each one in half on the diagonal.

Follow the instructions below for final assembly.

  • Follow same instructions for Red and Purple flowers as the Full quilt, making 2 of each
  • Sew 1 Red and 1 Purple flower together with 1—2 x 34” White strip between them, creating 2 sets
  • Sew the 2 Flower rows together with 1—2 x 69” White strip between them and alternating the flower colors
  • Sew 1—1 1/2 x 68 1/2” White strip to each side of flowers
  • Sew 1—1 1/2 x 71 1/2” White strip to the top and bottom of the flowers
  • Mark the center of the White strip
  • Sew two white triangles together along 36” side (Fig A). Repeat with remaining triangles to create 4 new triangles
  • Match the center seam of the triangle with the center of the flower rows and sew the triangles to the quilt
  • Trim outside edges as needed to create a 99 x 99” square
  • Add Green Border #1, then White Border #2 and finish with Green Border #3
  • Add back, quilt and bind

For the Throw sized version when adding the white triangles:

  · Mark the center of both the flower and the  24 1/2” White triangles (along the longest edge) and sew one to each side. They will not be the exact same length.

  • Trim as needed to square up quilt

Throw Sized:

  • 2 1/2 yards White background and borders
  • 1/2 yard each Yellow, Pink and Orange solids
  • 1/4 yard Pink border #2

Baby Sized:

  • 1 1/2 yard White background and borders
  • 1/4 yard each Yellow, Pink and Orange solids
  • 1/4 yard Pink border #2

Twin Sized:

  • 4 yard White background and borders
  • 1 yard each Yellow, Pink and Orange solids
  • 1/2 yard Pink border #2

Monochromality Quilt Pattern

Trim all HST units to 5" square, not 4 1/2".

The Gray 1 1/2 x 26" strips should be:

Cut 2 Gray 1 1/2 x 32" strips.

Baby It's Cold Quilt Pattern

You will need 1 1/3 yards for White Border #2.

White

  • Cut 12—3 1/4” strips WOF
  • Sub-cut into 140—3 1/4” squares

Light Gray

  • Cut 3—3 1/4” strips WOF
  • Sub-cut into 28—3 1/4” squares
  • Cut 13—2 1/2” strips WOF
  • Sub-cut 9 strips into 140—2 1/2” squares
  • Leave the 4 remaining strips as WOF

Throw sized quilt

Only make 12 of Block B, not 14.

Baby size quilt

  • White cutting changes
    • Cut 1 – 2 ½ x 58 ½” sashing strip (instead of 56 ½”)
    • Cut 4 – 1 ½ x 8” strips (Block B centers) – instead of 3 – 1 ½ x 9 ½”
    • Cut 1 – 1 ½ x 6 ½” strip (Block B centers) – instead of 2
    • Cut 5 – 1 1/2” x WOF for borders (instead of 4)
  • Small Block B assembly changes
    • Make 4 from Fabric 2 (instead of 5)
    • Make 5 from Fabric 3 (instead of 4)
  • Border changes
    • Side borders should be approximately 1 ½ x 60 ½”
    • Top and bottom borders should be approximately 1 ½ x 41 ½”

Twin size quilt

  • Fabric requirement changes
    • 1 1/8 yards of 5 different prints (instead of 1 yard)
      • 1 yard is exactly what you need so there won’t be any wiggle room

Queen size quilt

  • Fabric requirement changes
    • 5 yards of White (instead of 5 ¼ yards)
  • White cutting changes
    • Cut a total of 75 – 2 ½ x 12 ½” strips
      • Use 50 for sashing
      • Use 25 for Block B
